A group of Logan students have formed a club called the Princess Club to help low income students gain access to Senior activities which, due to outrageous costs, they are normally locked out of. Part of this endeavor is the collection of semi-formal and formal attire for the young women and men who can not afford attire for the Senior Ball.
So, ladies, dig out all those bridesmaid dresses and put them to good use! And men, clean out your closets and gather up neckties, vests, jackets and donate them! We ask that the items be clean and in good condition. All styles, colors, and sizes are welcome.
Drop them off at Paddy's for a feel good moment |

Paddy's Coffee House is pleased to present its new blend of coffee. The new blend is called Twiga Blend, named after a girafee in the Oakland Zoo. Very delicious cup of coffee, blend of coffees from the countries that are on the migratory path of the girafees. Come on over to try it out.
Twiga will be here only for two weeks. Migration patterns cause one to leave and the other to arrive. |

Paddy's Coffee House has always prided itself at being in the forefront in getting the community involved in social and civic issues. We are doing it once again, on October 3rd, from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, by hosting a Health Care Reform Forum. It is a topic that has caused a lot of controversy and roiled the nation. And we are doing our part by addressing and educating our community in this issue. We encourage all our patrons to attend and to help us spread the word about this forum

Oh, what a great day it was, one that will be stenciled and etched in our memories for ever! May 16th 2009 was Union City’s 50th Anniversary Parade and Classic Car show.
Paddy’s decided to take part in the parade, and our float Paddy’s decided to take part in the parade, and our float would not have been possible without the help of our wonderful patrons and colleagues David Thibert, Monica Takama, Rachel Aceberos, Clarice Aceberos and Nora Newell. The words Thank You is just two words, but there is a whole depth of appreciation that cannot be properly conveyed and expressed.
What a fantastic day, wonderful floats and bands, great crowd support. We at Paddy’s wish to thank all the volunteers of Union City’s 50th Organising Committee for a job well done. |

In association with Filipino Youth Council, we hosted a Teen Safe Sex and Sexual Disease prevention seminar. The next one we are thinking about is Teen Anger and Violence prevention. Would love to hear from the community on their thoughts.
Is their any other topic that the community feels relevant and which we ought to support ? Please let us know. |

We were open 24 hours the month of May to enable our student brethren focus on their exams. It was a satisfying month for us and for the student community as well. It was great to see such a huge turnout!
From all of us at Paddy’s, we thank you very much for your continued patronage, and we wish our student community nothing but the best. |

It has been a while
since our last update. The fault is entirely ours. The
chills and dampness of winter sent us into our website
update black hole mode, and the first burst of spring
hath harkened us forth. Quite a bit has transpired since
then. We received sufficient rain but not sufficient
enough for the reservoirs. New stimulus packages, corporations
pushing ahead with their bonus packages, and getting
castigated by all and sundry, and us in the Main Street,
enjoying and revelling in the patronage and support
of our dedicated friends.
To fall in line with the dictats of
the nation, we too have a stimulus package for you.
While the nation's capitol can call their package by
various acronyms, we prefer to simply call it "Paddy's
Economic Stimulus Package".
There is a lot on the plate at Paddy's.
Soccer clubs/Parades/24 hours schedule/music. Where
does one start ? Hyperventilation sounds so benign when
it comes to imparting information to you. Read on for
more information.
Here's hoping it is going to be a
great year, and thank you for your continued support
and patronage. |

It is that time of the
year.
Nope, we are not talking about spring
cleaning which is another chore by itself. We are talking
the rites of passage for every student, yep, Finals.
To help them through this rite of passage, Paddy's Coffee
House will be open 24 hours starting April 27th, all
the way to end of May (as of now). If there is a pent
up demand, we will extend it to middle of June.
We will be open round the clock Sunday
to Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays having our normal
close hours. Hope to see the students out there, and
some night owls for that matter. |

As you all are aware,
Union City is celebrating 50 years. There will be a
parade and classic car show on May 16th to celebrate
the occassion. Yup, Paddy's Coffee House is taking part
in the parade. We are building a float for that. We
need volunteers to help build the float, so if you are
interested, give us a call. Either way, we hope that
you will turn out and show your support for your favourite
coffee house as well as your favourite city. For more
details on the parade and other festivities, please
visit the Union
City 50th Anniversary website. |

Testing and all got
done, it is time to introduce our new sandwich. We already
have the Gobbler, The Tree Hugger, Paddy's PopEye, Grilled
Cheese, Egg Paddy, and now we also have Famous Jon's
Chicken Sandwich. You have to try it out to see why
other customers are raving about it. Kudos to our colleague
Jon Sok for coming up with the combination.
Almost all of you have heard of Panini
sandwiches. How many of you have heard of PaddyNiNi
sandwiches? That's our new introduction to the sandwich
line. We use Ciabatta rolls from a vendor at the local
farmer's market along with other farmers market veggies,
meat, cheeses and PaddyNini your sandiwich. You know,
we would rather have you droll over the sandwich at
our shop than over the keyboard reading about it. We
don't want messy keyboards, now do we? |

Mark your calendars! Saturday
February 7th, from 5.00 pm onwards, it's Paddy's Coffee House
6th Year Anniversary Party. Come on over, we will be having
food catered by local establishments, free drinks, music and
great company (excluding Paddy of course)!
What a start to the year. The stock market
and Mother Nature are toying with the emotions. 401k's have
now become 001k's, most sections of the country are freezing
and shivering, while we in California are simmering and basking
in brilliant sunlight. We need the rain and they need a respite.
And we need a recovery in the market.
The Anniversary Party is like all our other
parties. It's an open house, free food, beverages and utmost
fun. It is our way of saying, thanks for wonderful support
and loyalty.Party starts at 5.00 pm and goes on till ...
There is a lot of activity on the anvil,
both at the coffee house, and for Union
City's 50th year.
Like the rest of the nation, we are echoing
Bob Dylan and his words Times, they're changing. Here's hoping
it is going to be a great year, and thank you for your continued
support and patronage. |

It's the new year and a new
era. But unfortunately, the dawn of the new era was rendered
asunder with a horrified shriek. All because Paddy woke up
to a rather horrified discovery. Shifting of muscles and fat
is inversely proportional to age. Ah the nostalgic slim glories
of youth. |
