We have never had a Holiday Tree at Paddy's before. Given the prevalent economic state of affairs, we felt it worth the while to help out our less fortunate brethren. Tri-Ced has very graciously donated us a tree. We are accepting items for donation. All donations made will be given to Centro De Servicios, Union City's very own shelter and assistance agency. We have a strong feeling that companies are raring to go on a hiring binge in the first quarter of 2012. If you are unemployed, or looking to start a professional career, or just wanting to change your job, come over to Paddy's on Thursday December 8th at 6 pm, for a Job Assistance Workshop. This idea was actually brought about whilst talking to customers. Our customers have volunteered to help you write a resume, polish your existing resume. We will even be conducting mock interviews to help you get on the fast track on the job market. Once again, this will be on Thursday December 8th from 6 to 8 pm.

For a long time, we did not feature any live music because of various licensing and copyright issues. The copyright agencies of the music industry did not take it too kindly for the youth to play covers and what have you. We had to face an ordeal of emails, phone calls, visits, letters and what have you. The kicker was the final sentence in one of the missives, "Have your attorney talk to our attorney".

What really bothered us was the fact that the youth in the community, often times your own relations, could not find a place to perform or show case their talent, simply because all the other venues were in a similar fearful and apprehensive state. You can read all about it on our blog post. The first music night was a great success. We have a jar put out for contributions to help us pay the music industry. Please support us if you can.

And that means, Open Mics are back again. OccupyTheWord is our first Open Mic.

We listened, and we are making changes. We are revamping our food offerings and quite a few options are now on the anvil.

Molly Sokhom hosted Standup Comedy Series continues. What a wonderful event it has turned out to be. It is now a part of the cult Standup Comedy circuit.

The Fremont Writers Club meets every 3rd Thursday of the month from 7 to 9 pm. There was a nice write up in the Tricity Voice about the group.

Book signing and book reading nights are going on. Pretty soon, we will be hosting a book signing night of Tech Books. Talking of books, stay tuned, probably 2nd week of January, we will have a book exchange week once again.
